I don't think it's fair or accurate to say "isn't it ironic that people who get paid from the charity of other people are not willing to give to charitibly donate their time." Just because you don't see an orchestra giving a concert for no payment doesn't mean that the individual members of that orchestra don't donate their time and/or money to charitable causes. Additionally, arts organizations generally do not generate revenue and depend on the donations of their respective communities. Some orchestra management teams are very good at raising money and some aren't. You should read (if you haven't already) the Houston musicians' case at www.upbeat.org
