on where it is applied, how it is fitted, and how well the area to be patched was prepared for the doubled-layer of brass! With all the discussion here about lacquer or silver impact on horns, I'll leave assessment of acoustics to the real experts. But my suspicion is (like Chuck's) you may not notice any difference, except that the buzzing or leak that needed to be patched has been fixed!
