You say you've played several of the new Alexes (presumably at LBW). Is there any difference in the sound vs. old ones? Are they very consistent from horn to horn (soundwise and qualitywise)? Are the valves & linkage greatly improved over the old (post clock-spring) models?
Just curious. We don't see many of them here in the E. Tennessee hills. The place is lousy with St Petes, but no new Alexes.
