Well.... as an amatuer tubaguy, I blat a fart my way through renditions of Sweet Georgia Brown, Ja-Da, Ball'in the Jack, and Five Foot Two several times a week at various nursing homes and hospitals. Tuba solos are just uncommon enough that even bad ones get good revues. Face it... the general public doesn't know the difference between mediocre and great intonation! All they know is that it's a tuba (maybe). Give us 'blatters and farters' a little credit. We reach more of the public than will ever attend a concert at Carnegie Hall.
