I really do want an orchestral gig, but I know that I'd never be completely saticified with the playing. Sure, I'd love the Wagner and Mahler, but I'd hate weeks that I wouldn't play or would play something like New World. I've always had secondary interests such as brass quintets, brass bands, and wind symphonies. I've played in band since sixth grade (although I'm only a freshman in college, it still feels like a long time). I just enjoy making music, no matter what the medium of expression. I have played in every type of ensemble above, including tuba ensembles, and orchestral is still my favorite. People just have to remember that there is more than one way to make music.
