Hi Matt. There is a lesson to be learned here. When I do a recital, I show ALL the music to the accompanist and we agree upon a TOTAL fee for the deal, during which time we decide how much time is needed to adequately prepare for the performance. If you DID agree on a certain fee, it is really unprofessional to suddenly ask for more per hour. BZZZT! No more money, sorry Charlie! If you feel your accompanists did outstanding work there is nothing wrong for paying a 'BONUS' as a token of your appreciation. But for the pianist to ask for more AFTER the fact. Too bad, get a life!
