Sande MacMorran asked if I would post this for him as he will need a graduate assistant in a shorter period of time than would be necessary to go through the normal announcement channels. A performance major is not a necessity; theory, conducting, education, etc. would be suitable majors, provided the applicant's performance skills met Prof. MacMorran's
requirements.

For those who have not been so fortunate as to meet him, a biographical note (from the UT website):

W. Sande MacMorran is Professor of Music. He received the M.M. degree from the University of Wisconsin. He is the conductor of the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra and the assistant conductor and principal tubist of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. He was a founding member of the United States Army Brass Quintet. Mr. MacMorran is a former member of the United States Army Band in Washington, D.C., and the Ball State University
Faculty Brass Quintet. Currently he is a tubist with the UT Brasswind Quintet. He has studied with Bernard Pressler and Arnold Jacobs.

He has an email address, but is sometimes beset with technical problems, so if there is no response to email, try to contact him through the school.
