If my recollection is correct, when the seller first posted the availibility of this instrument on this BBS, he mentioned that it was a hand made instrument, with lots of custon work, not a stock MW. I would assume that all of the labor involved in the hand made construction process adds a great deal to the cost. In this case, more than doubling the price of an "off the shelf" model. The fact that it was once owned by Warren Deck, is in my opinion, noteworthy, but probably didn't influence the price as much as the hand made nature of the tuba. As with anything else, this tuba is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay, not a penny more or less.
I just want to know what the seller found to replace this instrument. One would assume that he found something he likes better than this horn.
