The thinking is backwards in a way, yet it is also reflexive.
The teachers with the most students getting jobs do so because, through their reputation for placing students, these teachers have the pick of the students with the most potential and the best head starts.
To study with the teachers whose students tend to do well at auditions requires that these students already have very significant head starts - through very hard work - prior to their courses of study.
