To me, Bobo established the Power Sound. Listen to his recording of the Hindemith and you'll know what I mean. It is commanding and spectacular, and fits perfectly with that piece of music, but I have to say that I don't find it beautiful. For the type of literature that Bobo recorded, it was perfect, but that isn't my favorite kind of music.
