I have the same issues as some of the posters below. I can take in a little less air than I'm expending and so it's always a matter of time before the note ends.
I have used it on Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet (the infamous B) and Mahler 1 (the long D) but it was out of desperation.
I heard Don Harry play a Bach cello sonata (if memory serves) and it was spellbinding. Only later did I realize he was using circular breathing.
Melvin Poore gave a memorable performance of his Variations at the International T/E Symposium in the 80's. Only after I gota copy of his piece did I realize that he HAD to circular breath to play it.
The rest of us have to suffer. Just be thankful you have more air than Arnold Jacobs.
