Ok guys, I understand the concept and looking at the picture, it clear that 2 valves worked in tandem. But why would somone use this instead of a rotor or piston? When would this have been common, if ever? Were other valve style used on brass horns in the past?
Also, I've seen at least 2 othe valve style on trombones for F attachemts. Have thes been considered in other horns? Especially french horns and tubas where rotors are still common. Possibly also in Baritone/Euphoniums as well.
