Seriously, while pushing might solve the inadequate engineering in the original unit, is the solution to fix the unit or to change your method of use? I vote for fixing the root of the problem, not the symptom.

When using those "Wisconsin style" wood cases, I found a cheap foldable luggage carrier to lay the case on sidewa and use a couple of bungee cords. That way I could lower the center of gravity, while widening the track width and putting larger wheels on it. Larger wheels are a tremendous help when going over urban terrain full of cracks, potholes, and steep curbs.

Basically the same reason a Humvee is a better choice than a Ford Festiva for offroading.
