If you want to see what makes a drum corps different, don't just go to a show. Go find their hornline warming up beforehand, or earlier that day, find a school where they're rehearsing and check it out.
You don't find out what makes a Porsche so good by looking at it on the street -- you find out how the factory works. For a corps, their factory is the rehearsal field. That's where the performances are built.
