I started out using my F on the Eb part in the brass band; soon bought a 3/4 CC, which I have ended up using almost all the time. We don't have a strong BBb section, and the CC is necessary to provide the bottom. I only use my F on rare occasions now, when a high solo is called for; it is both prettier and easier to play a high solo on the F.
If I had it to do over again.....I might get a Besson 283(?) for the brass band. I think it might do all of what I want, and I'd only need one tuba.
