I was faced with a similar decision. . . I went for music because it was the one thing that I felt I would enjoy. . .
four schools offered me acedemic scholarships as a Physics or Chemistry major and with my background from high school I would have done fine in such a field, but music and tuba are the things that I love, so doing something else did not make sense to me. I looked into doing both, but a labratory science and a music major that assumes you will put in two to four hours a day in the practice room just added up to about thirty-two hours in the day. . . After weighing ny options I have decided that there is nothing better than to do what I love. Some people have told me it is a "waste of such a good mind" to go into music when I could be making a lot of money right out of college. The way I see it, that is just not something that I could live with. I would always wonder, "what if. . . ?" I hope things work out for you whichever path you choose. Follow your heart, it will not mislead you if you listen carefully.

Good Luck,
