If the horn is in good condition, I've seen them sell for at least $800 to $1000. Usually the Conn sousaphones bring a good price, and that is what I prefer to play (I have a 1955 Conn 20K). The gold on the bell is gold flashing, and it was popular on the older horns when they were made. The basic Conn design goes back a ways, so it is probably similar to their 14K or 20K sousaphones that are still made. You might want to hold on to the horn, as you'll find it a good horn for parade bands, polka bands, etc. If you want to sell it, I would be wary of eBay, as many of the "buyers" aren't tubists and are just trying to get horns cheaply so that they can resell them for a quick buck, rather than giving them a good home.
