The bell and some of the main branches of the G 50 are made in Germany. The valve section and some of the branches are made by Getzen. Assembly is done by Getzen. Perhaps you may be thinking of DEG, a company lead by Don Getzen who imports many instruments from Willson. These are two members of the Getzen family but there is no business relationship.

There is an interesting sideline to this thread. Elkhart, Indiana use to produce many fine tubas until things stopped a few years ago. Now, Elkhorn, Wisconsin makes two tubas, The Getzen and Holton.
