This was my belief, and is what I am hand-building (tedious!!)for my new homemade 4/4 CC (even though I have a Euro-York CC section new in the box). NOW, I have to decide just where to "put" it on the horn.
I think that the person who said, "as near the bell as possible", is right.
Thanks for the posts! They offer moral support when making scare-y "permanent" cuts and brazings.
