I own a 765 that I purchased new (for about $1550) from The Brasswind in 1997. It has a great sound, but it is poorly-constructed (it has finish problems and some questionable solder joints). If your horn looks like it is well-made, buy it (just check it very carefully). Now that I'm over (?) the problems with my horn, I really enjoy playing it. I can keep the extreme low range in pretty good tune (even without the compensating system) and it has a nice, mellow sound. I do not aspire to be a professional musician, so I expect that this horn will serve as my primary instrument for many years.
