Hi Bob,
You simply have an older Miraphone with a replacement bell. Factory originals have the serial number on the bell. When you order a new bell, it won't have the s/n. If it is a Miraphone bell, they got one of the newer, cheaper bells that don't have the bell garland. New Miraphone bells are so expensive and if you figure the cost of an quality overhaul, a new bell, and relacquering, you can buy a new S series Miraphone.
The good news, who cares how old it is? The only thing that has changed over the last few decades is a different taper leadpipe, and a wider, 17 3/4" bell flair. You can still get a new miraphone with that older style, s shape linkage.
