The St Pete I futzed around with was ok and I guess maybe one of the better thousand-dollar horns money could buy...problem is they are more like 2-3 thousand dollars now! For 3K you can get a choice between several different new VMI/Cervemy, even Mirafone horns...if you take care in your shopping. While I realize that there are a LOT of players "who cannot afford" more than say, a grand, I'd remind you all that there were "a lot" of people "who could'nt afford more" that bought Yugo automobiles a few years ago...more than half the price of a "comparable" toyota? Such a deal! How many 89 yugos you seen lately? Unless you consider your tuba money expendable income (read whizz-it-away-money), you are better off treating your purchase the same way you'd treat any "real" investment. A horn should be worth more than a few week's income to you, dont'cha think? Period, end of opinion.
