My understanding is that that particular 184 is an instrument that I purchased new in the 1970's. I had Mr. Dooley Weilert in Kansas City do the soldering on that 5th valve after I decided which parts to order from the old Mirafone import firm in Sun Valley, CA. This was when I was teaching at the University of Kansas, and before I was doing any repair work. I sold the horn to a guy named David Graves (who now is a military band tuba player in San Antonio) and he sold it to Mr. Bishop, I think.
