Well put, that last line! I recently received a 983 EEb Besson. The front action model. After playing "uprights" for so many years, being able to adjust the slides is a "blessing in disguise"!

I have no trouble with the 4 in a row valve set. Having a free hand for slide manipulation is a luxury I won't give up for a long while.

After a few days with my new horn, I asked about the 993 BBb horns, seeing how they compare to the 994 upright model. All comments were positive for the 993 and many saying it is a better instrument than the 994. Even without playing one, i'll be purchasing one of these in the very near future.
