Here are some questions I've been saving up for the return of Tubenet:
•I'm in the market for a new tuba, and I've found that many CC's are made with
5 valves, but most BBb's aren't. Is this because the BBb's don't need the fifth
valve for the same reason the CC's do, or is there something else at work here (this
is not a CC vs. BBb question; I'm already set on buying a BBb, but I'm curious
as to what the function of the fifth valve is for the two horns, and its necessity
for BBb's)?
•How do compensating valves work? Is four valve compensating comparable to 5 valve?
•What is the difference between "solo" and regular (symphonic)
mouthpieces, and does it really matter that much?

Thanks in advance for any input.
