I need some information on Miraphone mouthpieces. Since I started playing I have used only Conn Helleberg mouthpieces, a "standard" on tuba, and a 7B on sousaphone. Anyway, I'm interested in trying something different. I looked at the Miraphone site, and printed out information regarding all of their mouthpieces, but really didn't find it too helpful because so many of the Miraphone mouthpieces are so similar to each other that I'm not sure which one to pick.
Should I stick with a Helleberg style mouthpiece or go "German" style?
On the Miraphone site, what's the difference between "American Style" and "Helleberg?"
Do I want a "deep" or "very deep" cup? Would my Helleberg I have be "deep" or "very deep?"
Is the only difference between "solo" and "orchestra" models the depth of the cup?
Is Tuba Exchange the only place that sells them?
I'm glad to see the BBS up and running again and most of all,
Congratulations to Sean for his new "gig!"
