I took delivery of My MeinlWeston 2141 Eb from Dave Fedderly in March and have not played my Besson 982 since. For different situations, i.e., symphonic band vs brass band vs quintet, I change between a Dennis Wick 2L and 3L mouthpiece. The 3L gives a more centered sound for the quintet, while the 2L opens up the sound for brass and symphonic band. I preferred the MW to the Willson I tried at the Tuba conference in Washington DC, but I'm probably not a good enough player to make the Willson work the way it is supposed to. If you have the wind and the money, look at that, but for almost half the price, the MW is a very nice Eb.
BTW, past posts have knocked the MW for intonation problems. The only problems I've had on it were the same problems I had on other tubas I've played. In other words, they are player error.
