Don't anyone cringe, but the best "big horn" solo I have ever run across, and still perform to this day, is the Beversdorf Sonata. BE AWARE, the piano part is REALLY HARD, and the tuba part ain't no walk in the park. I have played the piece on an Alex CC, old Marzan CC, and recently on my Yamaha BBb, a good solid work with more than meets the eye.
