Gold leaves no flavor behind. No metal taste. Gold doesn't tarnish. Gold doesn't leave a black ring on your mouth. Gold doesn't irritate sensitive skin or lips. After all the buffing preparing to plate and buffing the plating, plated mouthpieces are smoother feeling.
Other than these factors, its just color that has that expensive appearance, because god is fairly expensive.
