I am only a grad student, but it seems as often as something good happens, something ten times as terrible comes right behind it. Last night was one of these times where i entertained the idea of selling my horns and going to live alone off in the mountains someplace. I thought rationally, and realized all problems can be dealt with in some sort of satisfactory manner, and that I love this WAY too much to give it up. Combined with playing problems, everything seemed to point me in the direction that I am not supposed to do this with my life... however, after rationally thinking, I realized no one or nothing can say or do anything that will ever make me give up my love for playing and teaching the instrument. It truly is my life, the only part that matters. Therefore, to quit would be to literally throw away my dreams and hopes for what I see myself doing in the future.
So, in summary, yes, I am always led back in some way....
