I have a question pertaining to an article in TUBA journal. This article was about the orchestral development of the Euphonium. At one point int the article it says that Stravinsky gave the Euphonium a solo in the "Peasant and Bear" section in Petrushka. Is this information correct? Was Petrushka originally written for Euph? I have never heard a recording using a Euphonium and the solo is also a mainstay of the tuba audition rep? What's the deal?
