I recall hearing Brian Bowman playing eupho on this chart back about 63 in the Illinois All-State H.S. Band. He would have been 16 or 17 then and was already knockin em dead in the aisles. I have always liked it, if for no other reason.
Why not get serious about having "a" date for World Tuba Day. TubaChristmas is fine, but it is a bit cold in some parts of the world and stinking hot in others and while I am all in favour of continuing it as a tribute to Bill Bell, there seems to be a bit of competition due to somebody elses birthday. How about someting around early April or September. D.....n, we wouldn't want April Fools day, or would we. In many parts of the world that day gets attention for something which isn't quite in the normal musical mold. Well..???
