Did anyone else out there see Chester Schmitz's last Symphony Hall concert this past Friday night? They played Shostokovich's 5th...pretty good one to go out on. Chester sounded as amazing as ever. When he took his final solo bow, Chester got up on Seiji's podium. Everyone in the hall silenced thinking Chester was going to say something, then he just shrugged his shoulders and left...it was quite funny. I actually thought he was going to start preaching to everyone.
