On the BBb tuba the highest or first pedal tone is the last Bb on the piano keyboard. It is also interesting to note that on a sufficiently large BBb tuba using a large enough mouthpiece one can produce a double pedal an octave lower. However, it must be fingered with the first valve. This note is especially easy on some of the very large old bell front Conn tubas.
