A lot of those pigs are great little horns, but they do have their limitations. I have owned two pigs and I wish I still had them both (kept one) because they are so much fun to play. It is probably a good idea to upgrade if you can afford it. As far as advice goes, play as many tubas as you can get your hands on and try to find one that suits you personally. Also, you may find that, after switching to a bigger horn, you will want to look for a different mouthpiece (depending on how much difference there is between the old horn and the new).
