I agree about the Miraphone. One of the schools I teach at just bought one of those and the band director told me he got it for a song. He didn't remember what brand it was (isn't it wonderful when a band has a professional player on staff with vast amounts of knowledge and experience about the various instrument makes and models yet doesn't consult said professional when purchasing a new horn for the school? Sorry, different rant...) but he said he got it cheap. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was a Miraphone compensator and, further, that it plays really well. This is a good horn for someone on a budget if your heart is set on a 3+1 compensator.
