UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA AT LAFAYETTE
SCHOOL OF MUSIC

ECHELON BRASS QUINTET SCHOLARSHIP
AVAILABLE AUGUST, 2001
NEEDED: 2 Trumpets, Horn, Trombone, and Tuba

RESPONSIBILITIES: Performance with the Echelon Brass Quintet (UL
Lafayette School of Music Undergraduate Scholarship Brass Quintet) and
other UL Ensembles. The Echelon Brass Quintet is booked for recitals,
church services and other functions through out the Acadiana region.

QUALIFICATIONS: Exceptional performance skills. Completed high school
diploma by August 2001. Meet undergraduate school entrance
requirements. Enroll as UL Music Major.

SALARY: Scholarships provide an out of state waiver of tuition, free
housing, and a stipend, which will cover approximately ALL tuition
costs.

APPOINTMENT: August 23, 2001 for up to four years.

INFORMATION: The University of Louisiana is located in Lafayette, a
city of 150,000 and the cultural center of the region known as
Acadiana. UL Lafayette has about 17,000 students, and the School of
Music has approximately 200 music majors served by 20 full time
faculty. The UL School of music is a member of the National
Association of Schools of Music and offers the Master of Music degree in
performance, performance pedagogy, theory/composition, music education,
and conducting.
UL brass students enjoy numerous playing and teaching opportunities
around the area.
