The "alternative" string quartet is slowly gaining in popularity--2 violas, cello and contrabass. I kind of like the sound.
Was that Gary Karr thing perhaps more than a dozen years ago? I seem to remember him being introduced as a promising young talent on a program by Leonard Berstein and playing "The Swan".
Guess that was WAY more than a dozen years ago.
