This name sounds very much like that of the dreaded Chinese junk tubas that appear under many different names. The seller's phrase "very happy" may mean only that the death threats have not been successfully carried out, or that the purchasers are too ignorant to know any better.

You can, probably, get a new Weril from Joe Sellmansberger (Joe S.) for close to the eBay price, and you would then have a decent, if imperfect, tuba to recover your chops with.

As an alternative, with summer near, you may be able to borrow or rent a tuba for a few months, after which you could make a more informed purchase.

As another alternative, consider buying a good-quality used tuba from Dillon's or Dave Fedderly (see the shops section). If you don't like playing, you could sell it for close to what you paid for it.
