...and as far as Northcut goes...I had a very bad experience with him and don't consider him to be much of a musician at all. This is just personal opinion, but he ran a clinic that I attended and he told me to tongue with the most ridiculous syllables, almost not tonguing at all...like a "doh" i believe. And for his concepts of phrasing, he has none! He promotes that when the brass have a whole note and there is a woodwind passage underneath, we hit that sucker and hold it as loud as we hit it.
Now to me that is pure B.S.......I may be biased since my teacher refers to him as "some "J.A" grad student"
