Without hearing you play, or hearing the product on the day of the lesson/masterclass, or hearing the music being performed, it is impossible to fairly evaluate what might sound best to my ears. I can state that all types of sounds are plausable and have their uses depending on what is trying to be conveyed. So even using "fwee" as an articulation syllable is valid is some situations.
Everyone responds differently to different teaching techniques. Perhaps, at that point in time, "DOH" is what you needed.
