If I remember right, Weston meinl also experimented with a teflon coating, but dropped it again, first for technical reasons which I donŽt remember, and second for a very simple practical one: Imagin you had a horn with teflon coated valves. YouŽd still have to take it to a repairshop once in a while, now if they just apply their usual ways theyŽd cover the insides of the valves with the usual pumice-paste and work on it. There goes your teflon....
This not meaning any offence to really good places whoŽd know how to handle this, but not everyone would...
