There exists at the University of Edinburgh and acoustic reflectometer and you can get a dissertation on the web telling you how to make one. I studied the dissertation and deciced that acoustic reflectometry is not accurate enough yet to make it a usefull tool for intonation studies.
Also the tuba I mentioned was an Eb rather than F tuba.
