Hey Folks,

I thought I would solicit your help regarding the main tuning slide
on my Yamaha 642 euph. I've tried all of the common tuning slide
lubricants (lanolin, vasoline, hetman's, STP, and dow Corning High
Vacuum grease on this horn. All of them work great for a couple of
days, but usually within a week or so, the slide is completely dry
and I have to reapply. I'm very satisified with the original
results, but is it normal to have to reapply fresh lubricant EVERY
WEEK? It should be noted this is not observed on my valve tuning
slides, ONLY the main tuning slide.

Some folks in the archives have suggested this is an alignment
problem. Based on these observations, do you think this is the
case? Again, all lubricants work great for a few days, then
reapplication is necessary.

Any help you may offer would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott
