A friend of mine lost an audition due to taking too much at once...as well as not trying it out in advance. My one time using it was when I played the Vaughan Williams with my orchestra. I felt fine, but a bit detached from what was going on. But I played pretty well.
I was still quite nervous, but had no physical problems due to my nerves, and I focused better than I would have without it, given the circumstances. I would prefer more solo-with-orchestra-and-a-BIG-audience experience to grapple with any nerve issues than using a Beta Blocker, but if hired to do it again, I guess I might use Inderol...maybe 15 mg instead of 25 mg. Who really knows or cares what I would do, anyway?
