They do indeed exist, but are few and far between. A few years ago in Tucson, right after buying my St Pete, I met an old duffer who had just talked Vince into selling him one of these Conn's for $3500 (only $500 more than I paid for the 'Pete.....ARGHHHH!). Anyway, I didn't know anything about the numbering systems back then, but clearly saw that it was DEFINITELY the same size and shape as the 2x-J's, with four FRONT short-action valves and a removable recording bell. I guess that would make it a 26J. Anyway, I rushed home from the rehearsal and called Vince, who confirmed having sold the horn, and expressed that he "regretted" selling it, having himself subsequently learned that the horns were quite rare. And no, he didn't know where I could get one....:-) Another $.02....
