Matthew Garrbutte (sp?) is the principle tubist. I grew up in San Diego, however I haven't lived there for 10 years. They have had numerous financial and management problems for many years. I don't know their current situation. They have gone in and out of existance so many times, I have lost track. Matthew has conducted the "pops" orchestra in the past also. I heard them play the Berloiz Fantastic live back in 1992 or 93. I was very impressed. Brent Dutton, who is the tuba instructor at San Diego State University, played the second tuba part on Eflat tuba. I have a couple of other CD's they made. A Hollywood pop's recording with composer Lalo Schiffrin (sp? again!) and also a Alfred Hitchcock recording. Both are pretty good. Maybe someone currently living in San Diego can comment on there present situation.

Ken
