I was listening to the webcast of the Van Cliburn Piano competition today, and just mused to myself about how neat it would be if the same thing were done with any of the various tuba competitions. Has any thought ever been given to this when planning such events? The Van Cliburn site also archives the recordings(in CD quality digital format) for future reference... I, for one, think it would be great if some sort of simillar archive of tuba/euph competition literature existed... not that there's any shortage of recordings to listen to right now, I'd just love to have the freedom to listen to professional quality recordings by talented artists other than the dozen or so who currently put out CDs. Any thoughts?

Anthony
