Josh Wiley's a student at the Shimer School in Waukegan, Il. If you know anything about the Shimer school, that might tell you a lot about him. His main areas of academic study have been mathematics and theory(not music theory), but he's nothing short of a musical genius. He's done a lot with tying his mathematical studies into his compositions, and he's one of those people who seems to have an ininite understanding of music theory. The tuba Sonata is the only piece he's written for tuba, and is one of his "simpler" pieces. Some other pieces of his that will eventually be published include a Brass Quintet, a perfectly symmetric harp concerto, some piano etudes, and several works for different instrumentations. Once Postmodern Music Publications' website is up, there will be a bio of him, along with a catalogue of his works.
