I prefer CC anf F anyways. Its harder toi read the music, but the clarity of tone is much better. BBb and Eb tubas are kinda woofy to me ear. Intonation is going to be fine if the players know how to play in tune. IN tune is in tune, no matter what you play. Just as a side not, the Triangle Brass Band here in NC placed third in the championship division at NABBA this year behinnd Illinios and Columbus. I don't think the fact that our section was made up of an F, Eb, CC, BBb made much difference in our placing. Maybe it helped with the over all band sound. Who knows. It just shows that it doesnt really matter much.
